There are few things more beautiful in life then being under water and see what there is to see. Unfortunately there's no longer a dive operator available in Lumut or Pangkor. Snorkeling is therefore your best second choice. In front of Nipah Bay is the little island Giam, which some very nice spots to explore.

As said, Pulau Sembilan is no longer available for diving. Too bad, I have been diving there for quite some time and it's a very good dive site, even though it is not a marine park. But where can you dive then in Malaysia? Check this page for some ideas:

Im a pangkorean and jus get my OWD. Im wondering why thr is no more diving at Pualu Sembilan? Is it bcoz of no more Dive Shop thr? Wat if i hav my own tank, can i go dive thr?
Wat bout with Pulau Dua?
How can i get to these 2 islands? Speedboat rental expensive o not?
Feel so sad when i read this thread. Cant go diving at my own hometown. The 1st thing come in my mind after i get my OWD is to dive at Pangkor.
I did ask around in Pangkor, but cant get any info.

Hi Johnny

As you remember we had Sembilan Divers 2 years ago. One of the reasons they stopped was the difficulty to dive the whole month. Due to tides and the instream of fresh water, the visibility of the waters around Sembilan is only for 10 days a month really good. Then there are 10 days where you can be lucky and the rest is very murky. I have done about 40 dives there and have seen the different qualities.

I don't know about Pulau Dua and I don't know if you can rent a speedboat.

Peter

I see. Thx for the reply.
Tat's mean u have not done any dive at Sembilan since 2 years ago.
Do u have any idea whr to get tank fr Pangkor? I've heard my instructor said he went to Pangkor and done some reef check b4. But they cost him RM50 per tank.

I know there's a few guys on Nipah Bay who do have tanks. You may be lucky with them.
